Frequently
Asked Questions (FAQ)
Question:
I found your website while I was looking up
"rhinoplasty" on the internet; however,
I am looking for a surgeon who can perform a
nose job for the first time (not a secondary
or revisionary). Is Dr. Ellenbogen also skilled
in performing primary nose surgery?
Answer:
Absolutely! Secondary nose surgery is a very
difficult procedure and takes very refined and
advanced skills that oftentimes exceed those
required for primary rhinoplasty. That said,
any doctor with these special (and more advanced)
skills is even better at primary nose surgery.
The fact that Dr. Ellenbogen has a less than
5% revision rate is further testament to his
extraordinary skill and talent as a plastic
surgeon.
Question:
I have endured five previous nose surgeries
on my nose to correct the first doctors
mistakes. Does this make it virtually impossible
for my nose to ever be corrected?
Answer:
Most noses are "fixable;" however,
Dr. Ellenbogen would need to consult with you
in person and view both the exterior of your
nose as well as your nasal passages. Only at
that time could Dr. Ellenbogen advise as to
the degree of improvement possible and whether
or not surgery should be performed.
Question:
I have had several nasal surgeries and the results
are still unsatisfactory. After so many disappointments
my greatest fear is that a doctor will tell
me they can fix it, but they do not have the
skill or just want to take my money (knowing
how desperate I am). As a result, this has made
it very difficult for me to trust ANY surgeon.
Will Dr. Ellenbogen recommend surgery even if
he isnt 100% sure he can improve my nose?
Answer:
Absolutely not! Dr. Ellenbogen will not recommend
surgery unless he knows he can IMPROVE your
nose. He will rate your current nose from 1
to 10 and he will then tell you what number
he feels he can attain through surgery. If he
feels he can not improve the nose he will tell
you so during the consultation and as a result
recommend no surgery be performed.
